These Mambila horizontal
masks were worn on the top of the head and danced in specific
ceremonies and rituals. Specifically the masks below were danced
in celebration of the end of the planting season. These dances
are led by a tribesman wearing a cephalomorphic mask (#002 below)
whom is followed by a retinue of assistants wearing secondary
masks in the shape of a dog's head (#001 below) and a crow's
head.
